Why it gives well
It's nut-free. The filling is sunflower butter, not peanut — so this is a box you can hand to someone with a nut allergy, or bring to an office or classroom where nuts aren't allowed. Very few filled chocolates can say that.
It won for being different, not just for being good. Alongside the Gold, the judges gave this cup a Special Prize for Reinterpretation — an award for taking a familiar form and remaking it in another culture's language. The peanut butter cup is about as American as confectionery gets; we rebuilt it around black sesame, an ingredient revered across Asia and almost unknown in Western chocolate.

What's inside
Each cup features a chocolate shell made from premium Indian black sesame seeds, ground with organic cocoa butter and sea salt, with whole sesame seeds embedded throughout for textural contrast. At the heart is a filling that marries smooth sunflower butter with aromatic Taiwanese black sesame powder, naturally sweetened with organic raw honey — creamy and nutty, savoury and sweet at once.
